Amanda Tragic news about Brocky, not being a motor racing fan, but I always watch Bathurst. When he didn't finish Bathurst and stopped racing in it, it lost a lot of it's shine. All the pics that the media has shown after his death, the best and most heart wrenching was the one that someone had done at Mt Panorama (I think) which said "Brockie we'll miss you 05". It said and showed everything.
Thanks
Amanda

The pace car for the great race 2006, should be Brock's son in one of Brock's old race winning cars, plus a two minute silence before "Gentlemen start your engines"

tragic loss! he was known as peter brock,he always had smiles for everyone.i had been to bathurst for the last 15 years in a row and i started
because of him,the legend.my famous recolection was my brother and i pulled him up 15 minutes before the race in 94 and he posed, talked and we even got autographs, man how good was that!!!!! priceless moment.i now look at my photos from all i have collected over the years of him and all my jackets from hdt to the last team brock, even if i was bankrupt i would still take the memorabilia with me to the end just as my memories.i thought with the name of the mountain being left the way it is but having skyline changed for if he had one place of his last photot at bathurst,im sure he would of taken it on the top where he belongs.this year for me and everyone else will be memorable and the most heart felt bathurst ever,i to this day get shivers down my spine when the cars roar off for the bathurst 1000,and now with peter gone im sure this year till i die will bring me to tears and imk sure for others.one thing i would suggest as a true blue fan to commemorate him, this would be the ultimate thing. prior to the start like every year they parade always different cars, this year i think they should have a silence and parade all his cars from the late race austin to the last of the race commodores with team brock and one person should display his number 05 as that number did represent him as being the one for the main campaign of safety awareness with anti drink driving .05! it wasnt just a number you ford fans it actually meant something and that number will live on forever, especially that he raced, breathed holdens.

brocky we will remember u in our hearts for as long as the mountain remains also in our hearts, the legend will live on with the mountain forever.

I have just watched a peter brock tribute and was wondering if there was any sort of parade or function in relation to brocky's passing at this years
bathurst. As a proud owner of a VK GROUP A built no 253 I was wondering if anyone had thought of doing a car parade or display of his "special" cars on this weekend. What a great event this would be for all other "brocky car" owners

The Xuereb and Jordan Families Hi
It is very sad news that our legend of motorsport Peter Brock is gone and he will be missed immensely.
My family and I have been major fans of Peter Brock for many years and we feel that a separate service should be held at Mt Panorama to
farewell the king of the mountain as many fans like us would love the chance to say goodbye and either cannot afford or unable to purchase tickets to the race but would drive there for a service especially families with children as ourselves. Could this please be kept in your minds when organising a tribute to our king of motorsport.

RIP Peter Brock 1945-2006

Thannkyou very much for taking to time to read this email it is very much appreciated as we know you be recieving a huge load of emails.

Michael Firstly my condolences to Peter Brock's family and friends.

As were many, I was shocked by the news of his passing.

As thoughts of the past have been flooding through my mind and the question of how to honour Peter Brock keep arising, I have the following
suggestion.

At the start of the great race, the Bathurst 1000, with all the cars lined up for the starters flag, Peter Brock's 05 car would be ahead of pole
position by 2 or 3 car lengths. When the starters flag waves, all cars would proceed to do 1 lap at 40Kph giving tribute to the great racer Peter
Brock. The 05 car would return to the pits with the cars restarting the race in the usual manner.
As the cars have already travelled 1 lap, the remainder of the race would in effect be shortened by 1 lap.
This first lap could be given a name in Peter Brock's memory.

Ben There is no doubting that there is one integral part of Australian motor sport history that has closed on a chapter that cannot be forgotten, but many have been adding how a tribute should be made.

One thought for a tribute that is simple could be for the drivers to agree to leave the front row of the grid vacant as their own tribute to him. Simply
have everyone start a row back on the grid and in "missing man style" leave poll position vacant for Brockie one last time.

TEGA can keep the shoot out and all other qualifying by the same rules and still do this. Lets face it 1000 klms 6 hours racing and only and extra 12 or so meters further by starting back one position each.

Pass it on to see if this one suites people.

Lyn had the pleasure, sheer pleasure of meeting Peter for the 1st time at Bathurst 24hr enduro back in 1992. He was a pure gentleman and made me feel like I was his only fan for the 10min I had his undivided attention, a moment in time that will remain etched in my memory.

We talked shop and philosphy of life but most of all I am grateful that I had the opportunity to say ' Thank you' for his time. On Tuesday 19th I will say thanks for the memories!

Michael Indeed it is a tragic time for Motor Racing with the death of Peter Brock.

In thinking of his achievements I think it would be fitting to actually have this years Bathurst with all of his cars racing and award Brockie his 10th
win.

With all he has done for Bathurst and motor racing itself I could think of no better tribute to the King of the Mountain.
---------------------------------

Ian Just a short note, as a tribute to Peter Brock you might consider putting his name ie BROCKS or BROCKY"S above the Mount Panorama that's
painted on the mountain in the same lettering. This would be a fitting tribute to the man as it is seen so clearly via TV Broadcasts.

He was a mate to us all, a true legend that will be sorely missed. I had the privalage of being in his company a few times and every time I cherished it as if it were gold.
Brocky was my hero and he touched me like no other and made me strive to be a better person. He always gave 100% and never held back.
Brocky, A mate, A legend, The King of the Mountain.
